Another great day at our Pre-17 driving lessons today at Henstridge Airfield with the 2nd2None Driving School team of instructors. Many returning pupils and some new faces attending for the first time. Looking forward to the next under 17’s driving day in 4 weeks’ time.
Our under 17s driving lessons have been running at Henstridge Airfield for the past 8 years and are open to anyone aged 12 plus that meets the minimum height requirement of 4ft8ins.
Although all of our young drivers have a great time, there is a more serious side to our under 17s driving sessions. It’s all about teaching the young drivers from a younger age about the responsibility of driving a car as well as car control itself, we help them understand certain dangers of driving and in doing so hope to help them develop a better understanding of responsibility when they turn 17 and are allowed to start driving lessons on the road.
At Henstridge Airfield we are able to help the young drivers understand road signs and their meaning, such as STOP and GIVEWAY signage, the difference and reason for such signs. We also have a priority road system setup and teach the pupils about the priority and how to deal with these situations safely.
Being a safe environment we are also able to teach the young drivers how to reverse, pull up on the right, parallel park, turn in the road and bay park as well as carry out a controlled stop.
Our young driver sessions run once every 4 weeks and you can find out more by visiting the link below
